Community Foundation Arts & Culture Grants

The Community Foundation Arts & Culture Grants are awarded to select organizations whose proposed program increases the quality of life in our area through arts and culture. This application requires information that pertains specifically to arts organizations. Please review the below eligibility requirements and the 2019 grant application timeline and process before beginning a new application.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Program Area:  Arts and Culture

Geographic Area: The Community Foundation awards competitive grants for programs or projects that serve Caddo and/or Bossier Parishes. 

IRS status:  All applicants must have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or be described as an appropriate grantee for a community foundation under the IRS Code. An organization must have received its 501(c)(3) ruling letter from the IRS prior to applying to the Community Foundation for funding. 

Audit: An organization whose annual gross revenue is $750,000 or more is required to conduct and submit a current audit.  An organization whose annual gross revenue is below $750,000 is required to conduct and submit a current financial compilation.    

Form 990:  All applicants must be in good standing with the IRS regarding their Form 990 filing requirements.  A copy of the organization’s most recent Form 990 must be submitted as part of the grant application.

Previous grant recipients:  Grant applications will not be considered from an organization that is past due in submitting its final grant evaluation report to the Foundation.

Timeline: The proposed program or project must begin no earlier than June 1, 2019 and end no later than December 31, 2020.

Number of applications accepted per grant cycle: Organizations are strongly encouraged to submit only one application per grant cycle.  However, the Foundation will accept up to two applications from an organization with annual gross revenue of $5 million or more.

Multi-department/branch agencies:  Requests from large organizations with many branches or departments (i.e. colleges, universities, school systems or units of government) must come through the President’s Office, Superintendent's Office, Mayor’s Office or its equivalent.

Local use of funds: No part of the grant award may be sent to a divisional, regional or national umbrella group under which the applicant operates. All grant dollars must be used exclusively for the local project or program for which the grant is requested.

Types of funding request: The Community Foundation provides program support, general operating support, and capital support. 

 

ANY EXCEPTION TO THE ELIGIBILY CRITERIA MUST BE REQUESTED IN WRITING BY THE APPLICANT PRIOR TO THE APPLICATION DEADLINE AND WILL BE MADE SOLELY AT THE DISCRETION OF THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.
