Event finds new technology partner and features
North Louisiana nonprofit supporters can save the date for Tuesday, May 2, 2017 for the fourth annual Give for Good hosted by The Community Foundation of North Louisiana. After crippling technology outages in May 2016, The Foundation has partnered with a new technology company, CiviCore, to host the 2017 Give for Good.
“Despite last year’s technical challenges, our community has shown strong support for the concept of celebrating philanthropy through a 24-hour day of giving. We look forward to working with CiviCore to create a positive experience for both donors and local nonprofits during Give for Good day,” said executive director Paula Hickman of The Community Foundation.
CiviCore has more than 15 years of experience managing giving platforms and online payment processing. They are the best in class when it comes to architecture, redundancies and backup protection. CiviCore has hosted Colorado Gives Day ($28 million), Omaha Gives ($9 million) and Amplify Austin ($8.5 million).
New features in 2017 include a new website, new ways to give and a new overall giving experience. Donors will also be able to access a new Give for Good Status Page via www.cfnla.org/GiveforGoodStatus. This new webpage, separate from the giving website, will give site status updates on ten different areas of the Give for Good website with green, yellow and red indicators.
While there will be changes to the 2017 format, some points remain the same. The event will begin at midnight and last 24 hours. Nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations in Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Jackson, Lincoln, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine, Union or Webster parishes are encouraged to participate. The minimum gift will remain at $10.
Nonprofits should look for further announcements and information sessions this November.
